God’s Unchanging Hand

God’s Unchanging Hand

Author Darlene J. Conard

I dedicated a substantial amount of time in quiet anticipation, immersed in prayer and reflection, tuning my heart to hear the whispers of divine guidance. “What message do You have for me, Lord?” I implored, longing for clarity and understanding in the stillness of my spirit.

The melody of an old hymn, “God’s Unchanging Hand,” echoed in my spirit, stirring emotions and memories that had long been buried. The chorus played repeatedly in my thoughts: “Hold to God’s unchanging hand; Build your hopes on things eternal; hold to God’s unchanging hand.”

God is an unchanging force in our lives, a steadfast presence abundant with love, care, and compassion—just as he has been since the dawn of creation. His power is immense, but he can move mountains literally and metaphorically, shaping circumstances in ways we may never fathom. In our moments of great distress, he offers solace that soothes the aching heart and calms the restless spirit, providing comfort that transcends our understanding.

Our paths may sometimes feel rugged and obstructed, yet he clears those barriers through faith and trust, revealing routes we thought were lost. He is ever-present in every moment of our existence, serving as a wellspring of strength and guidance. His unwavering mercy and grace towards us remind us that no fault or mistake separates us from his love; instead, he invites us to seek him in every situation, illuminating our way forward with profound assurance and hope.

I urge you to remain steadfast during challenging times and to avoid placing your trust solely in what you see, feel, or hear around you. Life can present us with uncertainties and trials that may cloud our judgment and shake our faith. However, I want to remind you that God is unwavering and reliable in every aspect of His existence and dealings. His faithfulness is a constant that never falters, even when circumstances may suggest otherwise. Trust in His promises and hold on tightly to your faith, for He guides us with purpose and love.

… “I am the Lord, I change not.”   Malachi 3:6 (KJV)

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.” – Anonymous

God’s Path

God’s Path

Author Darlene J. Conard

“Your journey has molded for the greater good. It was exactly what it needed to be. Don’t think you’ve lost time. It took each and every situation you have encounter to bring you to the now, and now is right on time.”

                    -Asha Tyson-

During the Middle Ages, a significant movement called the Crusades motivated many Christians to embark on pilgrimages to the Holy City of Jerusalem. A system known as a labyrinth was developed to support these journeys and ensure the safety of pilgrims traveling through potentially dangerous territories. This intricate network of pathways served not only as a physical guide but also as a symbolic representation of the spiritual journey and devotion of the pilgrims.

A labyrinth differs from a maze because it has no blind alleys or dead ends. It is unicursal, meaning there is only one path to the center and back out, which twists and turns multiple times. Once at the center, there is only one exit.

Walking a labyrinth does not have a specific time requirement, as each labyrinth is distinct in its design and layout. The duration can vary greatly, with some labyrinths taking as little as 5 minutes to complete, while others may require a significantly longer time commitment.

Labyrinths come in various patterns, ranging from simple to intricate designs, and their sizes can differ significantly. Navigating a maze involves simply following the established path, eliminating any need to solve a puzzle. This approach allows your mind to concentrate more fully on meditation or prayer.

The labyrinth was thoughtfully designed to provide a secret and secure passage through the diverse landscapes of Palestine, allowing pilgrims to navigate safely away from the threats and uncertainties accompanying their journeys. Many Christians made a heartfelt commitment, often vowing to visit Jerusalem at some point to express their faith and dedication to their beliefs. The labyrinth enabled these pilgrims to fulfill their vows with a degree of safety, allowing them to embark on their sacred quests with the hope of reaching the revered city that held immense spiritual significance. Thus, the labyrinth became a physical pathway and a symbol of faith, resilience, and the deep yearning to connect with the divine.

The ancient Romans were known for their intricate designs, including creating labyrinth patterns that adorned their structures’ floors and walls. These elaborate geometric patterns, often composed of winding paths and turns, served as decorative elements and art that invited observation. Walking along the twisting routes of a labyrinth is believed to promote a sense of tranquility and mental clarity, allowing individuals to reflect inwardly and find comfort from the chaos of daily life. This practice of walking the labyrinth can act as a meditative journey, encouraging a peaceful state of mind while offering a profound connection to the symbolic significance of the maze.

Our path is uniquely crafted through Jesus. Through His sacred presence, we transcend the idea of a mere route; it unfolds with intricate layers of safety, enlightenment, and purpose. As we walk this path, we find solace from the world’s clamor, a refuge where chaos fades and peacefulness reigns. Along the way, we are bestowed with profound wisdom that enhances our understanding of ourselves and God’s will, shaping our lives and steering us toward a more meaningful and fulfilling existence.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

The Precious Blood of Jesus

Author Darlene J. Conard

As I lay wide awake at 4:30 in the morning, the world outside cloaked in a profound stillness, my heart brimmed with overwhelming gratitude. “Thank You, Lord, for never leaving me and keeping my sanity intact.” Warm, heavy tears slipped silently down my cheeks, carving delicate paths along the bridge of my nose, each drop a testament to the weight of my emotions and the relief of peace at that early hour.

While many people dread the arrival of snow, I find a unique thrill that’s hard to describe. There was a time when winter’s white blanket filled me with dread, plunging me into a deep depression as I grappled with feelings of emptiness and a lack of purpose in my life because I was isolated from others when I was a child up to my teen years. The first time I heard the song, nothing but the Blood of Jesus, the words washed over me like healing waters. “What can make me white as snow? Nothing but the blood of Jesus, oh precious is the flow that makes me white as snow, nothing but the blood of Jesus.” When a person finds themselves ensnared in the depths of darkness, enveloped by despair and confusion, the moment they encounter the radiant light of Jesus, a profound transformation occurs. This change is so profound and personal that it transcends explanation; only those who have undergone a similar experience can genuinely grasp its significance. A blinding veil is lifted from our spiritual eyes, revealing hope and clarity, igniting a spark of newfound purpose.

As I gaze out the window, I am captivated by the delicate snowflakes gracefully tumbling from the gray sky, each a unique masterpiece. Their gentle descent fills me with a sense of wonder and warmth, igniting a profound feeling of gratitude within me—for I know that Jesus, in all His love and mercy, comes to us precisely as we are.

Have you ever considered the fascinating properties of sheep blood? Its unique qualities enable it to counteract the venom of some of the world’s most dangerous snakes. Much like this remarkable blood, the blood of Jesus has the profound ability to overcome darkness and heal the wounds of tragedy, offering hope and light in the direst circumstances.

My prayer is that you will experience the same excitement as I have.

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:” 1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV

The Impact of Prayer

The Impact of Prayer

Author Darlene J. Conard

At 12:55 a.m., I found myself at my desk, the rhythmic tapping of tiny ice pellets against the window creating an unwelcoming symphony in the stillness of the night. The loud clattering resonated within me, making my heart sink as I considered the increasing number of homeless people, especially at-risk children, suffering through the brutal, cold environment outdoors. A wave of frustration and compassion washed over me, igniting a deep yearning to take action and make a difference in their lives. I do what I can, but it’s not enough. At that moment, that still, small voice quickly answered my thoughts. Darlene, you can pray. I asked, “Why would God need me to pray when He already knows?” The answer is simple: He gave us dominion over the earth. (Genesis 1:28) He will not get involved with the affairs of this earth unless we ask him to. (Ezekiel 22:30)

I can sense God’s weighty invitation pulling me into a deep state of intercessory prayer. A gentle tug in my spirit will continue until I go before Him to discover what He’s trying to reveal.

This brings to mind a remarkable event recorded in Acts 3:1-10. As Peter and John made their way to the temple, they encountered a scene that was all too familiar in the bustling outer courts—a lame man. Each day, this man could be found sitting by the entrance, extending his hand to passersby, hoping to receive alms to help sustain him. His presence, an emotional reminder of the struggles faced by many, drew Peter and John’s attention and compassion. “Look at us,” Peter said, eyes still on the man. The man looked up at them, assuming he would receive something. “Silver and gold I do not have, but I give you what I have. In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, I command you to rise and walk. With a firm determination, Peter reached out his hand, extending it toward the man. As he grasped the offered hand, a surge of strength coursed through him, allowing him to stand. To everyone’s astonishment, he found his feet steady beneath him, ready to take that first step. Did he receive something better than earthly treasures? Oh yes, a change of a lifetime. Don’t think for a moment that it stopped there; it went viral!

Again, I ask myself, what can I possibly do? I can do what Peter and John did. You can do what Peter and John did: pray. Sincere prayer exceeds all the treasures in the world. Remember, “Don’t think God can’t move on a financial need.

“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.” Psalm 50:10 KJV

God will answer as He sees fit.

From Empty-Handed to Overflowing

From Empty-Handed to Overflowing

Author Darlene J.  Conard

The long hours of waiting took their toll on the weary fisherman, who had endured the solitude of the dark waters. They toiled under the canopy of night, their eyes scanning the surface, anticipating when their nets would bulge with the fruits of their labor. Yet, time stretched with relentless silence, offering no signs of life or shimmering schools of fish darting beneath the surface.

The men finally relinquished their hopes as exhaustion settled heavily upon their shoulders and the weight of discouragement pressed down on them. With weary hands, they began to draw their empty nets back into the boat, the quiet sound of the water lapping around them echoing their disappointment as they turned towards the dim outline of land, their hearts as heavy as the nets they lifted.

As Jesus taught the gathered crowd, He took a moment to observe the fishermen nearby, who labored diligently, rinsing their nets under the fading light of day. One stood out among the boats lined along the shore—Peter’s. With deliberate intent, Jesus approached this particular vessel. Climbing aboard, He turned to Peter and instructed, “Set out a little way from the shore and cast your net into the depths.” The gentle lapping of the waves accompanied His words, echoing the tranquility of the scene around them.

Peter no doubt looked weary as he stood by the water’s edge, his face etched with fatigue from a long night of fishing that yielded no results. The dim light of dawn highlighted his disappointment, but a flicker of hope ignited as he turned towards Jesus. “Master,” he replied, his voice a blend of exhaustion and resolve, “we’ve toiled all night long and caught nothing. Yet, at Your word, I will let down my net.”

With a deep breath, Peter pushed aside his weariness and the heavy weight of discouragement that had settled on his shoulders. Trusting in Jesus’ command, he sank his net into the water. Almost immediately, something extraordinary happened—the net began to tremble with life. The sheer volume of fish was astonishing; soon, the nets overflowed, straining against the weight of their catch.

I imagine Peter’s heart raced as he realized the magnitude of the miracle unfolding before him. The boats nearby began to rush over, eager to assist in securing the bountiful haul. In an instant, he transformed from a disheartened fisherman wielding empty nets to a man overwhelmed by an incredible abundance, standing amidst the joyous chaos of a once-in-a-lifetime catch.

When weariness settles in, and discouragement begins to whisper doubts in our ears, it can be all too easy to adopt a mindset that questions the purpose of our prayers. We might find ourselves thinking, “What’s the use of praying? Just look at this situation—it’s so hopeless, seemingly impossible, and nothing ever seems to change.” But these thoughts are not reflective of the truth. Jesus is steadfastly aligned with our journey, just as a captain is with his ship during a storm.

In these challenging moments, we must hold onto faith. Keep praying, continue praising, and offer heartfelt thanks to Him. There is an abundance of blessings on the horizon, so overflowing that we will struggle to contain them, just as illustrated in the miraculous fish catch in Luke 5:1-11. Our perseverance in prayer can open the floodgates of heaven.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

Faith That Moves Mountains

Faith That Moves Mountains

Author Darlene J. Conard

Sleep escaped me like a timid shadow, slipping away as the atmosphere of excitement enveloped me. The night felt alive, charged with anticipation, and each rhythmic sound of my beating heart resonated with the thrill of what was to come and all God had unleashed in a single day.

“God help us when we hesitate to believe You for the miraculous. Please help us conquer our human nature to manage things beyond our capability.”

I quietly slipped out of bed, the warmth of the heat brushed against my skin, and settled into my study nook. The words of Jesus echoed in my mind, an extreme challenge: “…if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you,” from Matthew 17:20. Grasping the depth of this message seems to me unreachable, almost impossible. With a heart full of yearning, I began to pray, seeking understanding and clarity. In that stillness, I felt the gentle presence of the Holy Ghost, guiding my thoughts and enlightening the mystery of how something so tiny can move mountains.

Everyone has a measure of faith, but it’s how that seed is nurtured. Let’s not forget the tiny little thing will take root and become a plant.

Mustard seeds should be planted in a location with plenty of sunlight and well-drained soil to grow effectively. Ensuring no weeds is essential; all weeds must be completely cleared away. As stated in Jeremiah 4:3, “Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.” Thorns can overwhelm everything. We need to dig deep within our souls and eliminate anything that is not Christlike.

Mustard seeds must be provided ample distance between themselves to ensure each has the space to grow healthily. Just as these seeds require room to flourish, our lives need the illuminating presence of God’s light and the guiding power of His truth to thrive truly. Sometimes, God may lead us into periods of solitude, encouraging us to turn inward and seek a deeper connection with Him. In these moments of loneliness, we often find the opportunity for growth and spiritual discovery.

“In our time alone with God is where our best work is done and where God’s best work is accomplished in us.”

                                      — Charles R. Swindoll

When God chooses to deepen our faith, it often coincides with challenging circumstances that put our beliefs to the test. We live in extraordinary times marked by uncertainty and disorder, yet amidst this turmoil, God has a powerful opportunity to reveal His magnificent strength and unwavering grace.

Remaining anchored in your faith becomes crucial in the face of adversity. Stand resolute, regardless of the obstacles that may arise—be they personal struggles, professional difficulties, or even spiritual dilemmas. Imagine your faith as a tiny mustard seed, a symbol of hope and potential that can transform into something extraordinary when nurtured and allowed to grow.

As you journey through life’s ups and downs, remember that in God’s kingdom, all things are possible. Let this profound truth serve as your compass, guiding you through the darkest nights and fiercest storms. Embrace your faith as a vital lifeline, and witness the remarkable transformations that can emerge when you trust in His divine plan.

My Lord, the Great Sheperd

My Lord, the Great Sheperd

Author Darlene J. Conard

Recently, I came across an interesting video of a sheep that snuck away and hid in the mountains, eager to escape the upcoming shearing.

As the days turned into weeks, he was eventually found sporting a massive, 78-pound woolly coat that completely obscured his tiny frame. The only feature that peeked through the dense fur was his long, slender nose, which poked out adorably and amusingly. While I couldn’t help but chuckle at his comical appearance, I also began to reflect on its deeper meaning. It struck me how often we, too, attempt to evade the care and guidance of the Good Shepherd as He seeks to nurture and protect us. It was a touching reminder that we might overlook the love and protection He gives in our efforts to escape.

Experiencing God’s correction can be challenging and uncomfortable, much like navigating change often brings discomfort. This process may not feel good, but it serves a greater purpose for spiritual growth and development. Just as loving parents take the time to guide and discipline their children for their well-being, our Heavenly Father cares for us deeply, seeking to lead us toward a better path. His guidance, though sometimes challenging to accept, is rooted in love and understanding what is best for us.

“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?”    Hebrews 12:6-7 KJV

As we embark on this new year, our hearts swell with eager expectancy for the remarkable blessings God has in store for us. This season signifies more than just a passage of time; it presents an excellent opportunity for extreme transformation and renewal. We must open our eyes to the fact that God is deeply committed to guiding us in shedding the old habits that weigh us down and hold us back. By courageously letting go of these past behaviors, we create space for Him to replace them with bracing new habits that create liveliness.

Embracing this journey of change invites us to a richer understanding of His divine purpose, allowing us to experience a more fulfilling and vibrant faith. With renewed hearts and minds, let us prepare ourselves for the incredible possibilities that lie ahead—those moments of joy, revelation, and spiritual awakening that await us on our journey together.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” Isaiah 40:11 KJV

Beloved, pray for one another, and let us seek Him with all our hearts, minds, and souls.

The Realm of Faith

The Realm of Faith

Author Darlene J. Conard

Gently, God’s divine presence stirred me from my deep slumber, enveloping me in a warm embrace of glory that filled the very air around me. The normal atmosphere itself turned into serenity. Although I felt as though I were floating, weightless, and utterly carefree, I found myself unable to move—nor did I desire to.

“Oh Lord,” I whispered, my heart overflowing with longing, “how I’ve yearned to finally experience this sacred moment. Here I am, emerging from the dark valley of shadows, entangled in thorns and thickets. At last, I stand in the breathtaking realm of faith, a place of peace and complete clarity. Finally, I see things from a unique perspective.

As we navigate through the unforgiving thickets of life and its sharp thistles, they rend us, causing wounds and weariness.

Each prickly branch seems intent on snagging our hope, causing us to lose precious fragments of our journey amidst the tangled chaos. Yes, they grab, tear, and bring blood, but in the end, the realization of how invaluable those things we’ve carried will come.

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:” (1 Peter 1:6-8 KJV)

Multiple temptations indicate that God is at work. Jesus experienced this during His forty-day fast. Satan did not succeed; Jesus recognized that his goal was to lead Him to failure (Matthew 4:1-11). While Satan cannot take away what God has given us, he will try to tempt us into giving it up. Everyone can agree that temptation is a heavy burden, especially when we are surrounded by it. However, the challenges we face in our faith bring us strength, revelation, and a closer connection to God.

In the scriptures of 1 Peter, it is emphasized that facing challenges is a mark of honor. Our faith, which holds a value far greater than gold, serves as a testament to the presence of our fears, especially those instilled by Satan. Ultimately, the profound joy that awaits us at the end of our trials surpasses any treasure we might encounter in this world.

… “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 KJV)

When we look through the lens of faith, we gain a glimpse of God’s incredible plans for us. Our emotions can often lead us astray, so it’s important not to rely on feelings, sights, sounds, or thoughts as the foundation of our beliefs. Instead, we must anchor ourselves in faith.

Let this message fill you with hope, dear one. A dear friend of mine lives by a powerful mission statement that resonates deeply: “Be brave, be bold, and stay focused. Trust that you are destined for greatness, and soon you will realize that you are more than simply okay; you are meant to thrive!”

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I pray that you and your families have a safe and wonderful Christmas! I pray for healing over every situation in Jesus’ name!

Blogs will not be sent until after Christmas. I’m currently working on completing a manuscript for publication. God be with you!

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV

Beauty Out of Chaos

Beauty Out of Chaos

Author Darlene J. Conard

A small part of me longed to preserve the canvas, while another part urged me to discard it entirely. The surface, marred by my previous attempts, appeared utterly unworthy of transformation into a masterpiece. The steep cost I had paid for this canvas weighed heavily on me as a painful reminder of my mistake. The splatters and accidental brush strokes brushstrokes seemed to scream back at me, “This is a mess!” It’s a sight my eyes couldn’t unsee, making it difficult to breathe new life into this failed endeavor.

While reflecting on my situation, the Lord placed something in my spirit: He does not waste anything! I have often viewed myself as a waste, a wreck, and unfixable. My circumstances seem like a total mess, and I have friends that need healing. I love my friends very much; God has blessed me with them.

“Am I not a God of restoration? Behold, I am doing a new thing. What the enemy intended for harm will become a place for angels because My glory will be evident.” I began to shout for joy all over my apartment. When you receive a word from God, there should be no doubt!

God has used this experience to elevate my faith to new heights! Excitedly, I set up my canvas, preparing to create my masterpiece. As I dipped my brush into the vibrant colors, a sense of beauty and inspiration flowed through me, transforming the canvas into a vivid expression of my journey and emotions. Each stroke brought forth new ideas, and I could feel the creative energy swirling around me, guiding my hand as I brought my vision to life.

God assures us that if we let Him work in our lives and express our praises and gratitude for what is to come, the outcome will be glorious!

… “he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6 KJV

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.  Isaiah 49:19 KJV

No matter how difficult your situation may seem, it will not lead to despair! Place your trust in God, pray with sincerity, offer heartfelt praise, and express your gratitude to Him as you navigate this waiting period. Trust that brighter days are ahead!
