Show me Your Glory

Show me Your Glory

The moon hung high in the night sky, casting a silvery veil over the floor, illuminating everything with its soft light. On evenings like this, when the frogs’ chirping fills the air, I often find myself pondering deep questions. What must it have been like for Moses, standing alone under the vast expanse, communing with the Great I Am? Though he couldn’t gaze upon God’s radiant face, he was granted a glimpse of God’s back, a mysterious encounter that must have sparked awe and reverence in his heart. What revelations unfolded in that sacred moment, beneath the watchful stars? It makes me wonder what truths lie hidden in the shadows of our own lives, waiting to be awakened. I myself have said, “Lord, show me Your glory.”

Do not assume for even a second that your request has gone unnoticed. We need to remain vigilant, attentive, and hopeful as we patiently await the response. We must keep our eyes open and our minds engaged, ready to seize the moment when the time comes. God is active, ready more than we are to reveal Himself to us.

Here is where the story turns inward—where the ancient encounter meets our present longing.

For just as Moses stood on that mountain, shielded by the hand of God, we too are being positioned for revelation. Sometimes the glory doesn’t arrive in a blaze of light but in the quiet shift of our spirit, the subtle stirring that tells us heaven is drawing near. God often answers long before we recognize the response. He moves in whispers, in nudges, in the rearranging of circumstances we didn’t realize were being aligned for our good.

There are moments when the night feels long, when the silence stretches, and we wonder if God has heard us at all. But the truth is this: the silence of God is not the absence of God. It is the sacred pause before the unveiling. It is the hush before the curtain lifts. It is the stillness where our spiritual senses sharpen, preparing us to perceive what we could not have understood before.

Just as Moses had to wait in the cleft of the rock, we too must learn to wait in the places God has carved out for us—places that feel hidden, narrow, or uncomfortable. Yet these are the very places where glory passes by. When it does, everything changes.

Not always with fireworks. Sometimes with clarity. Sometimes with conviction. Sometimes with a peace so profound it feels like a new kind of seeing. God reveals Himself in ways tailored to our journey, our wounds, our calling, our capacity to receive.

So, if you have prayed, “Lord, show me Your glory,” then prepare yourself. Not with fear, but with expectation. Not with striving, but with surrender. Not with anxiety, but with the quiet confidence that the God who met Moses in the night is the same God who walks through your shadows today.

His glory is not distant. It is approaching. It is forming. It is already brushing against the edges of your life.

All he asks is that you remain awake to it.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”   — Matthew 7:7-8 KJV
