Insinuations came from the pastor’s wife’s mouth. “You think you want to be a speaker because you want to be somebody. That’s not for you!” she snapped. Be careful you’re going to get hurt from wishful thinking.” I’ve heard it all.
Pressing the book to my chest I sat on the floor by my bedside. Finally, after five years the manuscript I worked and prayed so hard for is now in my hands. Walking through my moonlit room with all lights out thanking God was all I could do. I went to the designated prayer spot remembering many times of intercession.
I pulled my journals out dating from 2000 to 2010. Throughout the chronic order of events revealed the overwhelming desire to find my position with the right audience. Who, when, what and how determined on the timing. Here I have written in 2007 that I dreamt of walking through the high school auditorium carrying my unpublished manuscript in hand. Behind me is the same angel I saw in the first dream I had. “You lost a page. Hold on to it.” He said handing me the lost page.
The pages that slipped from my grip was Joseph and the persecution he faced. “Thank you.” A display in the auditorium of Richwood High School? It’s a religious book. I can’t see it happening! I thought over and over.
Disappointment took its toll dampening my spirit and dreams. Several book signings didn’t go very well at all. No one seemed to take interest. I believed in the dreams God gave me. I needed a new beginning, something that is mine that no one can take away.
I believed that I had to maintain a perfect life to get to that point! Now I can breathe knowing that’s a lie from the pit of hell. Truth says, “No one can take away what God has for you!
I understand that this is deep and personal. I regret not sharing such intimate times with the Lord with others. Now many are coming forth desiring the deep things of God.
God declares in Revelation 3:8, “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” In your Bible these words are written in red, it’s Jesus’ words. It’s sealed, no one can shut that door, go through it or vandalize it.
In 20013 two high school students did a book report on my first book The Redeeming Power of Christ. It was displayed in the auditorium and published in the newspaper. You can’t tell me God doesn’t speak through dreams.
I am reminded often dreams are challenged.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV) It will all come together in God’s time. Keep praying and believing. Remind your situation of what God promised you!
