Have you ever wondered why some people resist the truth? The truth has a way of illuminating the shadows that we often prefer to keep hidden. Today, I can truly say that I am filled with purpose, and it’s largely due to the unwavering love and honesty of my grandmother. She cared deeply for me and recognized the dark forces that were subtly influencing my life. At the time, her revelations stirred a deep-seated anger within me because I was blind to those forces. Yet, her willingness to confront the uncomfortable truths was a gift that ultimately delivered me from the grip of hell.
On the other hand, there were those who, though they claimed to be speaking the truth, did not clothe their words in love or compassion. Instead, their tone was sharp, their intent seemingly to wound rather than to heal. Their corrections felt less like a hand reaching out to lift me and more like a finger pointed in accusation. Rather than guiding me toward growth, their words carried the weight of judgment, leaving me feeling shamed, isolated, and misunderstood. It wasn’t truth offered as a lifeline—it was truth wielded as a weapon, cutting deep without any balm to soothe the wound. So, I get it!
In today’s society, there is a strong inclination for people to prefer silence and complacency, allowing them to indulge freely in a lifestyle that strays from moral principles. This preference for quietude serves as a shield for those who wish to carry on with their sinful behaviors, unchallenged and unaccountable. Instead of encouraging open discussions about these issues, it seems that there is an effort to silence those who want to highlight the effects of these actions.
“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;” —Hebrews 11:24-25 KJV
Accountability refers to the state of being responsible for one’s actions or decisions, often involving the obligation to face the consequences of those actions if they yield unfavorable results. It requires accepting responsibility for actions.
I am here to encourage you to shine the love of Christ. The truth will wield a memory in the souls of those who are sitting in darkness. It may fall on deaf ears, but someone will hear. I did.
Feel free to forward it to anyone you wish. My mission is to encourage everyone to follow our Lord Jesus Christ with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. ©Darlene J.
