Footprints Leading to Greatness

Footprints Leading to Greatness

Author Darlene J. Conard

The crunching snow filled my ears as I walked down the sidewalk. My mind was occupied with many thoughts—nothing negative, just a sense of obliviousness to what was to come. As I continued, my footsteps pressed into the blanket of snow, following the previous footprints that led straight to my destination. Each step sank slightly into the fresh, powdery white blanket, and the crisp noise echoed around me. There were many days, Lord, I walked this same path with a mind filled with questions — as always, You assured me things would be alright, I thought with gratefulness. I will tell you this: the same path I walked down generated many revelations.

As I continued my walk, reflecting on the many dreams and visions God has woven into the fabric of my life, a profound question arose: “What path lies ahead, and where will my journey take me from this moment onward?” You’ve heard the metaphor, “I’ll play it by ear. ” Well, that’s precisely what God wanted me to do. He doesn’t always give us all the details, so we must trust Him.

Hebrews Chapter 11 is often called the faith chapter, showcasing the extraordinary courage and belief of men and women throughout the Bible. Each individual received a clear directive from God, yet their journeys’ specifics were undefined. This absence of detail didn’t deter them; instead, it fueled their faith and resolve. I’ve encountered numerous situations in my own life that mirror this experience. I’m gradually learning to embrace these moments without questioning them too profoundly, trusting that there’s a greater purpose at play, even when the path is unclear.

God sometimes leads us down the path of the unknown. He never leaves us. He directs our path step by step.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV

We must completely trust God to guide our paths and make life decisions. His wisdom is beyond our understanding, and we can be assured that His direction will always be right for us. In moments of uncertainty or doubt, we can find comfort in believing He will never lead us astray. By surrendering our plans and desires to Him, we open ourselves up to a journey filled with purpose and clarity, knowing His plans are always for our good.

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. “Psalm 146:3 KJV
