Hold On to Your Promise

Hold On to Your Promise

Author Darlene J. Conard

Genesis chapter 14 voices the trouble Lot encountered during the conflict of the kings of the nations.

After Abram (Abraham) received word out f his brother’s distress, he immediately prepared to rescue him. He did prevail and restored their things with the people to Sodom and Gomorrah. “Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God, and blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.” Genies 15:18-19

After observing the situation, the king asked him to exchange the people for goods. I admire Abram’s response: “I have lifted my hand to the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, that I will not take anything from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich.”
Undoubtedly, God is with us in every battle. Honoring Him will bring blessings into our lives. Don’t be disheartened by the enemy’s efforts; a greater vision lies ahead.  Genesis 15:22-24

And the LORD answered me, and said, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for theit; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2 KJV

I understand the frustration of waiting while feeling pressure from our adversaries. It might seem like the odds are stacked against us, but I want to encourage you not to lose hope. Despite how things may appear, the outcome is not what it seems. I firmly believe that God is actively rearranging situations to work in your favor, even though it may not be apparent at the moment. Hold onto this promise, meditate on it regularly, and whenever the enemy tries to deceive you with lies, remember that they will ultimately fail in their attempts.
