I Changed My Mind

I Changed My Mind

Author Darlene J. Conard

“Stop giving other people the power to control your happiness, your mind, and your life. If you don’t take control of yourself and your own life, someone else is bound to try.” ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Absolutely! I agree one hundred percent. Any profession requires skill, knowledge and perseverance.

Using a computer was something at one time I had no knowledge of. Terms such as download, formats, URL, surfing the web overwhelmed me. Using computers wasn’t required during my school years. Since I had multiple disabilities, well, I discarded possibilities of learning. The majority become frustrated with me.

In 2006 an unexpected change occurred. Being removed as a Sunday School teacher devastated me. At the time I didn’t see God closing this door and protecting me from unbiblical ethics. My time spent out of the meetings reserved time for Bible studying, prayer and fasting. An unfamiliar position in the ministry emerged. Nothing I had knowledge of. Trust me, in no way form or fashion did I consider being an author. It all started through a dream. God still speaks through dreams. Of course, I questioned, “Me, and author?” Few knew about it.

Several elderly ministers including my grandmother confirmed, God created this desire in my life. I must say a tremendous amount of discipline occurred to publish my first book. False voices, intimidation, deception all to get me to abort what God conceived in my spirit. Although my first book did indeed get published, challenges follow.

Dare I say, when the door for this daily blog opened, the battle in my mind intensified. Days become difficult due to migraines or a situation detouring me. This is where discipline comes in. God is trusting me to minister to everyone in my path. God is relying on me.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people” Hebrews 8:10 KJV

As days, weeks and months have passed I’ve realized more than ever God knows what we are capable of.

Please let me implant a seed of hope in your life. I declare you are stronger than you realize. You are His purpose and mission. You are important to God and others. Wonderful things await you! In Jesus name
